Define Homeless
Put simply, you might be talking about not having a safe, warm bed to go to every night.
Describe “homeless” as a human experience and you are dealing with a deeper and much more complex issue. Separation; abandonment; constant chaos; lack of stability for your family; no privacy; exploitation; vulnerability to crime; rejection; lack of hope.
To have lived any combination of the above would mean unimaginable hardship to most of us.
Many homeless people are living them all, and more, today and everyday here in Cork.
How would you feel?
Separated from family and community
Constantly moving from place to place
Your children missing out on education and play
No privacy and no personal space
Your possessions constantly stolen
Rejected, looked down on and ignored by others
Losing your sense of self and about to give up hope
