Edel House redevelopment

After many years of planning, our dream of having a fully redeveloped Edel House became a reality in late May. Over the past few weeks, residents and staff have been settling into their impressive new surroundings. We are currently able to provide 13 families and 20 single women with well equipped, ensuite accommodation in self-contained apartments. The redevelopment also offers more meeting, training and counselling rooms so that we can continue to expand supports for residents.

The new Edel House is already proving to be a great success as it offers residents more independence in a modern and safe environment. Our outdoor courtyard is proving to be an invaluable asset, especially for the children over the summer holidays as they now have a safe outdoor space in which to play.

The capital funding for this redevelopment was provided by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, through Cork City Council. We are also very grateful to the various companies and individual donors who have contributed to helping us furnish and complete the redevelopment.
